Typically, the substation is designed with three dedicated compartments: a High Voltage Compartment, equipped with cutting-edge high/medium voltage switchgear like the ring main unit and gas-insulated switchgear, capable of reaching a maximum rated voltage of 40.5kV; a Low Voltage Compartment; and a Transformer Compartment, featuring either a three-phase oil-immersed transformer or a cast resin dry-type transformer.
