Typically, each substation includes three well-defined compartments: the High Voltage Compartment housing high/medium voltage switchgear like ring main units and gas-insulated switchgear with rated voltages up to 40.5kV, the Low Voltage Compartment, and the Transformer Compartment, which is equipped with three-phase oil-immersed transformers or cutting-edge cast resin dry type transformers.
