Typically, these substations are divided into three main compartments: a High voltage compartment, equipped with state-of-the-art high/medium voltage switchgear like ring main units and gas-insulated switchgear, capable of handling a rated voltage of up to 40.5kV maximum; a Low voltage compartment; and a Transformer compartment, featuring either a three-phase oil-immersed transformer or a sophisticated cast resin dry type transformer.
