Typically, these substations house three well-structured compartments: the High Voltage Compartment, equipped with high/medium voltage switchgear like ring main units and gas-insulated switchgear, with a maximum rated voltage of 40.5kV; the Low Voltage Compartment; and the Transformer Compartment, outfitted with either a three-phase oil-immersed transformer or a cast resin dry-type transformer.
