Typically, these substations feature three distinct compartments: The high voltage compartment, which includes high/medium voltage switchgear like ring main units and gas-insulated switchgear, capable of handling up to 40.5kV maximum rated voltage; the low voltage compartment; and the transformer compartment, outfitted with a three-phase oil-immersed transformer or a robust cast resin dry type transformer.
